First Principles
What is HYROX?
HYROX is a standardized indoor fitness race: run 1 km, hit a functional station, and repeat eight times. The stations never change — SkiErg, sled push, sled pull, burpee broad jumps, rowing, farmers carry, sandbag lunges, wall balls — so every race in the world is the same test, and every finish time is a real benchmark.
That fixed format is exactly why it can be trained with precision. PITFIT's HYROX classes break the race into its parts — strength on the stations, endurance in the runs, and the brutal skill of doing both at once — then rebuild them week by week until race day feels familiar.

Every station, trained in the PIT.
Eight 1 km runs stitched between eight stations. Here's the full gauntlet — and how our HYROX classes attack each piece.
1 km Run × 8
01Eight compromised-running intervals stitch the race together. We train run pacing under fatigue in every HYROX class.
SkiErg
021,000m of upper-body pull endurance. Trained through pulling intervals and erg-pattern conditioning.
Sled Push
0350m of leg drive against real resistance. Our garage floor was built for sled work.
Sled Pull
0450m of posterior-chain grind. Grip, hinge, and repeat — a signature block in HYROX Lower Body.
Burpee Broad Jumps
0580m of the station everyone fears. We build it with progressive volume so race day is a rep, not a shock.
Rowing
061,000m of pacing discipline in the middle of the race. Trained as engine work under pre-fatigue.
Farmers Carry
07200m of loaded carries. Grip and posture under load — a weekly staple in the PIT.
Sandbag Lunges
08100m of walking lunges under a sandbag. Featured heavily in HYROX Lower Body Strength & Endurance.
Wall Balls
0975–100 reps to finish the race. Squat endurance and rhythm when your legs have nothing left.
Station deep dives from our coaches: wall ball technique and pacing · sled push & pull technique · burpee broad jumps pacing · SkiErg & rowing pacing · farmers carry & sandbag lunges · compromised running · doubles vs singles · HYROX vs HIIT compared

HYROX FAQ
Everything Dallas asks about HYROX.
HYROX is a standardized indoor fitness race held in arenas worldwide: you run 1 km, complete a functional workout station, and repeat that eight times. The stations — SkiErg, sled push, sled pull, burpee broad jumps, rowing, farmers carry, sandbag lunges, and wall balls — are identical at every event, so your finish time is comparable across races and your training can be measured precisely.
PITFIT runs coached HYROX classes six days a week at Travis Walk in Uptown Dallas (4514 Travis St) — minutes from Knox-Henderson, Highland Park, the Park Cities, and Downtown. Classes rotate through HYROX Total Body, Lower Body Strength & Endurance, Upper Body Strength & Endurance, and Strength & Mobility formats. Your first class is $15.
Yes. HYROX has no qualifying standard and the movements are simple by design — running, sleds, carries, lunges, wall balls. Every PITFIT HYROX class scales load and pace to your level, and our coaches teach station technique from rep one. Most first-time racers finish, and most start exactly where you are now.
At PITFIT, your first class — HYROX included — is $15 for new clients, and 2 weeks unlimited is $50. After that, single classes are $36, packs run $260/8 or $600/20, and memberships from $165–$279/month cover every class on the schedule.
CrossFit varies its workouts daily and includes technical barbell lifts. HYROX is one fixed race format — the same 8 runs and 8 stations every time — with no complex gymnastics or Olympic lifting. That makes HYROX easier to start, easier to measure, and ideal to train for with structured classes like ours.
Three to five sessions a week works for most athletes. PITFIT schedules HYROX classes Monday through Saturday, split across total body, lower body, upper body, and mobility emphases — so you can stack training days without overloading the same patterns.
HYROX Dallas runs November 18–22, 2026 at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center. A solid training cycle is 12–16 weeks, so count backward from race week and start early. Consistent classes 3–4 times per week over that window prepares most athletes to finish strong.
No. Plenty of members take HYROX classes purely because the training works — strength, engine, and conditioning in one hour. If you do decide to race, you'll already be training the exact movements and pacing the event demands.
Evan Conrad leads HYROX Total Body (Monday), Upper Body Strength & Endurance (Wednesday), Strength & Mobility (Friday) and Saturday's 10:45 HYROX Total Body. Sara Yingling coaches Lower Body Strength & Endurance (Tuesday) and Thursday's Total Body. Founder Chris Wiese takes Saturday's 9:30 AM HYROX Total Body.
Yes — that's the PITFIT model. One membership covers both programs: HYROX classes for race-specific strength and endurance, HIIT classes for engine and conditioning. Both run in the same Travis Walk garage on the same schedule grid, often back to back.
Park free inside the Travis Walk garage at 4514 Travis St — the studio is on the 3rd parking level of the same structure. Enter from Travis Street, drive to the lower 3rd level, and park in any open spot.
